So when I found out I was pregnant it was a little bit of a surprise. While we had been trying for a few months, we postponed the “trying” part for a couple months knowing the baby would make their appearance right in the heat of wedding season! And while we were beyond thrilled to find out we were due July 21st, I knew it would be a bummer for some of my brides. Denille and Brooks had booked me for July 10th, but after telling them the situation, they insisted they still wanted me as their photographer if no baby had arrived by that point. While I would be 38 1/2 weeks pregnant, I agreed! They were, after all, an amazing couple to photograph!! Here are a few of their engagement pictures we had taken just a few months before I found out I was pregnant and then on with the wedding!

Andy and Marissa both attended Millikan University and met each other in college through a mutual friend. They’ll be getting married this August and have been so gracious with me since it’ll be my first wedding back after having our little one (due July 21st). We chose to hit up Miller Park for their engagement pictures this past weekend and then stopped at IWU for some final shots! I loved getting to know you Andy & Marissa and can’t wait for your wedding this August!

Joy and Jason were such troopers… they were in town and ready to go by our 8:00 session – and from Peoria no less! I love when clients are willing to meet early in the morning – the light is just wonderful! Here are a few pictures from their session. Windy Days…

I am so excited to shoot Matt & Danielle’s wedding this coming September. When they decided they wanted to do engagement pictures, I was thrilled! Not only is it so helpful to be able to meet and interact with the couple, but it also just gives me a feel for the personalities of the two and how they interact with each other. They were awesome… while we chose one of the warmest days of the week (which isn’t saying much for March in Bloomington), we also chose one of the windiest days during the week as well. The two were troopers and so patient as we had to constantly wait for the wind to die down before we snapped a few shots. Thank you Danielle & Matt!! I can’t wait to photograph you in September!

Northern Love

Matt and Becky contacted me about engagement pictures and we braved the cold January weather. They met and fell in love while they were attending school at Northern Illinois University. Becky’s brother is actually marrying a girl I went to high school with, which is how they came into contact with me. They’re getting married August 28th, and here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session!

So I absolutely can’t wait to photograph this couple’s wedding in May of 2010! Michael and Heather were absolutely adorable together and their love just radiated. They were quite brave and scheduled a mini December engagement session (which aren’t the most pleasant in central IL), but we were able to take pictures at Ewing Manor, a beautiful location I don’t get to photograph at often. While it was crazy cold out, they were awesome and we were able to get some great pictures.

October is my absolute favorite month to photograph in! I LOVE all the beautiful colors of the leaves. And while we only get about 3 weeks of great color, I try to pack in as many session as possible before the leaves drop and the trees become bare. This was probably my last session before the trees all died (once they’re bare I avoid them at all costs!)… so I was really grateful to get some of the great colors with this beautiful couple!! I get to photograph their wedding September 4th of next year.

Brittney and Jared are originally from Arizona and are actually getting married in Flagstaff. (A little jealous I can’t photograph their June wedding!) As we were deciding locations, I told them since they’ll soon be leaving the very beautiful and exciting midwest, I’d be extra sure to document some of things that we love so dearly. Corn, barns and fields of nothing. You know, those exciting things. But yet, somehow they still make for beautiful photos. So enjoy Jared & Brittney, and please, take a piece of us home with you.
