While we had been trying for a few months, we postponed the “trying” part for a couple months knowing the baby would make their appearance right in the heat of wedding season! And while we were beyond thrilled to find out we were due July 21st, I knew it would be a bummer for some of my brides. Denille and Brooks had booked me for July 10th, but after telling them the situation, they insisted they still wanted me as their photographer if no baby had arrived by that point. While I would be 38 1/2 weeks pregnant, I agreed! They were, after all, an amazing couple to photograph!! Here are a few of their engagement pictures we had taken just a few months before I found out I was pregnant and then on with the wedding!

Brooks & Denille were so much fun to photograph because of how IN LOVE they are... wow, I mean, it was written all over their faces the entire day :) I loved it. let's say GORGEOUS! And... just for some kicks and giggles, here's me at 38 weeks. Large and in charge!

Carrie had one of the best smiles I have ever seen, and when she laughed it just lit up an entire room! Here’s a few of my favorites from their big day!
The photo on the left was taken my wonderful assistant, Cassie Carrie's home had a beautiful little sunroom off of their family room.... I just loved it! She was so natural in front of the camera! Love this one! Did I mention Chris was also a natural in front of the camera! Carrie and her dad's dance was one of the most emotional daddy/daughter dances I've ever witnessed. It was such an amazing thing to see how much love they had for one another.

I know.  I had a rush of weddings/sessions the past couple months and it’s been all I can do to keep up with that, much less blog about them!  But alas… I’m up to date and will be posting hopefully one post a day up until my new little bundle of joy arrives (my nesting has also been a reason for delay!).

Anyways, here is the first of many posts to come… beautiful Heather and Michael.  Heather has a way of making you feel like you are the most important person in the room.  Her and Michael are the sweetest couple and I was so thrilled to be able to photograph them.  You can check out their engagement session here.

They practically were apart of each others families already from what I could tell… even Kevin’s younger sister was Lauren’s Maid of Honor (which I think is very cool). Usually I get to meet my brides before the wedding, however since they live so far north we only had the chance to speak over the phone. When I walked into Lauren’s house that morning as she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, she greeted me with the sweetest hug and hello! Here are some of my favorites from Lauren & Kevin’s wedding day!
Gorgeous. The first look. Right in the middle of the service... love it! Fist pumps to the best man... so glad I caught this! One of my favorites from the day! Nothing extremely special, but two of my favorites!! Can you tell I might have been a little "in love" with the bride - she was amazing to photograph!! Ok. Maybe a couple more :) Their first dance was a blast...

These bridesmaids were some of my favorites... you rocked these pictures girls! The church was gorgeous.... Took a break from the cold to get these amazing photos inside the Union Station! One of my favorites from the day.

Bryan was a groomsman in another wedding I had done. I knew I was in for a good expression! Samantha is one of the most genuine and sincere people I have ever met. For the world to see.... We ended up waiting a little for the limo to come our location - this is how the groomsmen kept themselves occupied. Thanks Tyson. Stunning. Can we say gallery wrap!? There's that famous jump again! No doubt in my mind this couple will have an incredible marriage! ]]> http://www.jamiegrantphotography.com/blog/first-kiss/feed/ 2 hometown fever http://www.jamiegrantphotography.com/blog/hometown-fever/ http://www.jamiegrantphotography.com/blog/hometown-fever/#comments Tue, 26 Jan 2010 22:37:59 +0000 admin http://www.jamiegrantphotography.com/blog/?p=417 This was a wedding I absolutely could not wait to shoot.  Jared and Jenny had it planned for August 1st of 2009 in the Japanese Gardens in Batavia, IL – my hometown!  This area was where I grew up taking picnics with my family, having pictures for homecoming, and enjoying rollerblading adventures with my friend Rachel.  It is an absolutely beautiful location – the only hangup…. it rained.  Hard.  Jenny and Jared could not have had better attitudes about it though, because while I would have turned into a nasty bridezilla (stress, tears and all), Jenny was absolutely amazing and no rainy day could have stolen her joy of getting married.  She had such a sense of humor and laughed more than any other bride I’ve had… you could tell her and Jared were absolutely in love!  So while the rain was frustrating, we worked around it and were able to still grab some great pictures in between rain showers!

Jenny was smart and brought her tennis shoes because she knew it might be muddy with all the rain.... it was. I loved her bouquet. So simple yet elegant. One of my favorite ceremony pictures. They laughed throughout nearly the whole thing. It was amazing. He thought he got her good....
