Andy & Marissa

Andy and Marissa both attended Millikan University and met each other in college through a mutual friend. They’ll be getting married this August and have been so gracious with me since it’ll be my first wedding back after having our little one (due July 21st). We chose to hit up Miller Park for their engagement pictures this past weekend and then stopped at IWU for some final shots! I loved getting to know you Andy & Marissa and can’t wait for your wedding this August!

Joy & Jason

Joy and Jason were such troopers… they were in town and ready to go by our 8:00 session – and from Peoria no less! I love when clients are willing to meet early in the morning – the light is just wonderful! Here are a few pictures from their session. I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding this October!!

Our Colorado Babymoon

My husband and I LOVE to travel… that’s one of the things we’ve tried to do a lot of the first four years of our marriage. Through my husbands job, we’ve had opportunities to go a lot of places and have absolutely loved it. But….. now with a baby on the way, we’ve realized that we might not get quite as many opportunities and maybe not nearly as much Brandon & Jamie time as we’ve enjoyed the last few years of it being just us. So, we decided to do a babymoon. One last trip just for the two of us – and yes… it was wonderful!!! Here are some of the pictures from our journey to Denver, Colorado :)

Michael & Heather

LOVED photographing this couple… here’s the rest of their session at Ewing Park!

Dash

So I feel like I’ve been going blog crazy the past week, but I guess that makes up for my inconsistency the past few months :) Anyways, here is Dash. Dash was the perfect little guy during our session last week… he spent some time sleeping, some time wide awake, and hardly anytime crying. His dad, Chase, and my husband are cousins, so I’ve gotten to know Chase and his wife Aja over the past several years. We were all anticipating Dash’s birth since they decided to be surprised with the gender and surprise everyone else with the name. It was exciting to hear that he had finally arrived! Aja, here are a few of my favorites from our session…

High School Sweethearts

Lauren & Kevin have been dating since high school. They practically were apart of each others families already from what I could tell… even Kevin’s younger sister was Lauren’s Maid of Honor (which I think is very cool). Usually I get to meet my brides before the wedding, however since they live so far north we only had the chance to speak over the phone. When I walked into Lauren’s house that morning as she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, she greeted me with the sweetest hug and hello! Here are some of my favorites from Lauren & Kevin’s wedding day!

Green.

Okay, so I promise I’ll be posting a full session soon, but my most recent engagement session demanded a little blog action – even if it’s just three pictures. Michael & Heather – wow. I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in May! These caught my attention and I can’t wait to finish up the rest!

Sweet Baby Emma

I just wanted to post a couple of my favorites from a recent newborn session I had with Emma…. such a beautiful, sweet little girl!

Windy Days…

I am so excited to shoot Matt & Danielle’s wedding this coming September.  When they decided they wanted to do engagement pictures, I was thrilled!  Not only is it so helpful to be able to meet and interact with the couple, but it also just gives me a feel for the personalities of the two and how they interact with each other.  They were awesome… while we chose one of the warmest days of the week (which isn’t saying much for March in Bloomington), we also chose one of the windiest days during the week as well.  The two were troopers and so patient as we had to constantly wait for the wind to die down before we snapped a few shots.  Thank you Danielle & Matt!!  I can’t wait to photograph you in September!

St Louis here we come!

Micky and MC had their ceremony just outside of St Louis, bringing their reception right to the heart of downtown.  Projected forecast for the day:  80% chance of rain.   Actual forecast for the day: 0% rain.  Amazing eh?  And while it was a little cold and very cloudy, it made for some wonderful pictures!!  Thank you MC and Micky for being so willing to suffer through the cold with me!
